JOHN MERCANTI, 12TH CHIEF ENGRAVER OF THE U.S. MINT
In our country's history only 12 people have held the title of Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. John Mercanti was one of these few.
Now retired, Mercanti sculpted over 100 coins and medal designs during his 37-year tenure at the Mint-more than any other engraver in U.S. Mint history.
"It was a distinct honor to be entrusted with creating America's most precious coins and medals," says Mercanti. "Now it is an honor to be associated with Goldline, a company that has been committed to serving precious metals investors and collectors for more than 50 years."
In the following four video webisodes you can learn more about Mercanti, including the challenges, accomplishments, and experiences that were part of his illustrious career.
